Spicy Beans with Pork (gf)

Dried shallots adds flavor and texture to this dish. Once you have them, add to them sprinkle on; salads, sandwiches, rice, spring roll wraps etc

Start – Ingredients End – Dish
  • 500g beans
  • 250g pork – minced
  • 1/2 onion – finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup dried fried shallots
  • 2-3 cloves garlic – crushed
  • 1-2 fresh red chili – chopped
  • 1-2 dried chili – chopped
  • 1-2 tlsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vinegar

2 Place a fry-pan on high heat and add 1 tlsp of oil.

Add beans and fry until blisters appear – approximately 10 minutes

Stir continuously and set aside

3 Back to the fry pan, add a little oil and fry onions and pork until pork is brown and onions are soft.

Add garlic, sugar, salt, vinegar, dark soy, fresh and dried chili and cook for 2 minutes

4  Add beans and dried shallots.

Gently stir to combine and serve

Tips to Create
  • Replace sugar with oyster sauce

Sauce Option – Non gf 

  • Add 1/2 cup stock and 2 tsp corn flour, heat until liquid thickens to create a sauce
