Roti Bread – Quick and Easy (v)

Making roti from scratch is worthwhile but is a labor of love and time consuming, these are a great alternative.

It is cheating but see if you can taste any difference!

Start – Ingredients
  • puff pastry sheets – store bought
  • oil spray

1 Assemble and prepare ingredients

Defrost pastry sheets and cut into 4 sections

2 Heat a non stick fry pan and spray with oil (or spray pastry prior to placing in the pan)

Using medium to high heat;

Place one or two pastry piece in the pan

Cook until base is golden – approx 2 min

Spray top with oil

3 Cook second side until golden – approx 2 min

Once cooked crumble the roti into a loose ball (optional)

Wipe pan with a paper towel between cooking

Repeat steps 2 and 3

Cook second side until golden

Separate top and bottom and cook further to make it extra crispy

Cook 2 at a time or as many as you can fit in a pan to save time

Cook second side until golden

Squeeze the cooked pastry together

Tips to Create
Place some chili flakes or spices in between 2 sheets, roll to create a thin sheet, cook as above
